Sydney: A 47-year-old real estate agent was held for installing a hidden camera inside two young women’s bathroom aged 22 and 23 filming them showering and using the toilet.
The victims rented the apartment from the disgraced real estate agent and one of the women noticed a small device inside the shower on October 3.
She realised that the device was a secreted camera and had been pointing in her direction as she was showering. The woman seized the camera, which was no larger than a USB drive confronted Yao and took it to Maroubra police station to report the incident.
Police said the camera was of excellent quality, and featured both women showering and using the toilet.
The camera was presented in the Waverly Court on Thursday. A clear picture of Stephen Yao leaning into the shower of a Kingsford unit, in Sydney’s east, was showen in the footage.
The women said in their statement that they were ‘extremely shocked, embarrassed and distressed that their private parts were filmed without their consent.’
