Relief for TRS and BJP leaders in Rail Roko Case

Prominent TRS and BJP leaders who were facing criminal charges in connection with the rail roko programme during the thick of the movement for separate Telangana state in 2011, secured relief when the court struck down the cases today.

Cases were booked against leaders including the present Telangana Ministers Nayini Narsimha Reddy, KT Rama Rao and Padma Rao, and BJP leaders like Union Minister Bandaru Dattareya, and MLA G.Kishan Reddy for participating in the rail roko programme and disrupting the train services. The Railway Court in Secunderabad,   pronouncing its verdict today, dropped al the charges against them. (NSS).
