Rly Budget was completely disappointing for Telangana: Shabbir Ali

Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir has described the Railway Budget, presented by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday, as completely disappointing for Telangana State.

In a media statement, Shabbir Ali said that the Centre has completely ignored Telangana in allocation of budget for ongoing projects, sanction of news projects, doubling of lines or development of railway stations. Except for giving Rs. 330 crore for Ghatkesar-Raigir (Yadadri) MMTS project, Rs. 80 crore for satellite Rail Terminal at Cherlapalli Railway Station and Rs. 70 crore for Peddapalli-Karimnagar-Nizamabad project, Telangana State got nothing worth mentioning in the Railway Budget. There was no mention of Kazipet Coach Factory which was sanctioned by the previous UPA regime, he said.

Shabbir Ali slammed the TRS Government for its failure to get adequate allocations for Telangana State in Railway Budget. “Telangana State remained neglected in Railway Budget for the second consecutive year. TRS Government has failed to make effective representations with the Centre on rail needs of the State. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s focus revolved around defections and elections and he completely skipped his responsibilities in getting due share for Telangana in the Railway Budget. KCR should admit his failure and take up the issue with the Centre in an aggressive manner,” he said. (eom)
