Sapling plantation is social responsibility: Talasani

Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said plantation of saplings is a social responsibility that one should follow.

The minister was planting saplings on KIMS Hospital premises at Ranigunj in Secunderabad along with officials as part of Harithaharam III phase.  Speaking on the occasion, Talasani said it was everyone’s responsibility to protect our environment from getting polluted. He exhorted the people to create a green environment by taking up the plantations to possible extent and provide a better environment. The government has taken up the massive plantation drive to make Telangana green by expanding green cover to fight pollution and get more rains.

Plantation drive is going on in schools, colleges, and educational institutions, offices, hospitals, and government offices, he said. NGOs, voluntary organizations and other companies should also participate in the green drive, the minister said. Yadav also said the future generations should get a better and conducive atmosphere to live in which is possible only by creating such a green environment around us. He expressed content that the green drive in KIMS will help create a better environment in the hospital.

Hospital MD Bhaskar Rao gave Rs 2 lakh cheque to the minister to set up tree guards. (NSS)
