SC ruling leaves seemandhra Leaders shocked

The Supreme Court dismissing as many as nine petitions filed against the Centre’s action as ”unconstitutional, undemocratic and illegal” struck a huge blow to those opposing bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
The SC verdict has brought cheers among those fighting for the cause of a separate Telangana, while at the same time it struck a deadly blow to those opposing the formation of a Telangana State and espousing the cause for keeping the present State united. There is no denial of the fact that the verdict had also come as a shot in the arm for the Union government to speed up the process of Telangana formation by going ahead in introducing the A.P. Reorganization Bill 2013 in Parliament in the next couple of days. Undoubtedly the verdict has come at an appropriate time when the Union Cabinet is scheduled to meet later in the evening to give its stamp of approval for the Bill’s introduction in Parliament.
Undoubtedly the SC verdict also has brought a setback to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, who has been up in arms against the Congress High Command opposing the bifurcation of the State, as all his hopes of stalling the introduction of the T B ill in Parliament through legal process has been nullified. As a matter of fact, there were speculations that the Chief Minister also had planned to knock the doors of Supreme Court to stall the T process but seemed to have decided to wait for the outcome of the petitions already pending before the apex court.
However, the Seemandhra leaders, including the Counsels, who had argued before the Court, tried to put up a brave front by claiming that their petitions were not dismissed or rejected but were only not entertained. They also pointed out that the court had given them the option of approaching it again at an appropriate time. Thus they asserted they would again move the court in this regard. (NSS)
