Shankar Murthi likely to be new governor of Telangana

Hyderabad: If buzz is to be believed, senior BJP leader, DH Shankar Murthy, will be the new governor of Telangana state. He has been associated with RRS since 1966. He was earlier associated to Bharatiya Jan Sangh as well. He has been the District General Secretary and state General Secretary of the party in Karnataka. He has actively taken part in Bangla Satyagrah and went to Tihar Jail. In 1980 he was appointed first state general secretary of BJP in Karnataka. He contested in 1978 and 1980 General Elections from Shimoga but faced defeat. For the first time he was appointed for Karnataka Legislative Council in 1988 and got elected for 4 consecutive terms. He was the cabinet minister during the rule of Bharatiya Janata Party- Janata Dal (Secular) alliance.

If everything goes as per the plan, the appointment orders are likely to be out in 2-3 days. ESL Narasimhan is the governor of both the Telugu States after the Erst While Andhra Pradesh is bifurcated.
