The unique concept of ‘SHE’ teams that was initiated in Cyberabad and Hyderabad in October 2014. The Telangana government has decided to have SHE teams in all major cities and towns in the state from April to check crimes against women.
On Monday, the Telangana government said in the Legislative Assembly that the concept proved to be successful in providing safety and security for women. Mr. Reddy said that the teams will be beginning the operations from April 1 this year in all major cities and towns covering all the districts.
Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said that over 100 SHE teams were formed for Hyderabad and 60 teams for Cyberabad each team consists of one ASI or a head constable, one sub-inspector,two constables, a women constable and one of them with a discreet camera, all in civil dress.
