SHO thrashes man after asking caste in Haryana

Jind: A police officer here allegedly thrashed a man, who went to police station to lodge a complaint, after asking his caste.

The victim Balkishan complained to Superintendent of Police Abhishek Jorwal that he was yesterday assaulted when he went to Pillukheda police station with his friend Satish, whose wife ran away with a person, to lodge a report in the matter.

According to the complaint, Station House Officer Ramniwas dragged Balkishan to a room and thrashed him after asking them their caste. The officer was also alleged to have made life threats.

Taking objection to the incident, members of Akhil Bharatiya Brahman Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti today met SP Jorwal and demanded action against the SHO.

They also threatened to take the matter to the Chief Minister and the DGP if no action is taken.

SP Jorwal has ordered an enquiry in the matter.

Meanwhile, accused SHO Ramniwas rejected the allegations against him.
