SOURCES OF BLESSING (PART-1)

Allah the Almighty created mankind, and made innate in him the love for good and hatred for evil. Only when man has so much plunged himself deep in the mess of evil that he no more sees it to be evil. In such case it could even be the opposite, seeing virtue to be evil and evil to be virtue. This marks the least of possible degradation of the human being.

Allah say:

“Have We not made for him two eyes’ and a tongue and two lips? And shown him the two ways (good and evil)”
(Al-Balad: 8-10)

Thus, every man, in his natural uncorrupted form, is endowed by the virtue of being a human being with the ability to distinguish between evil and good. He finds himself inclined towards that which is good and abhorring that which is evil.

Therefore, the sources of blessing for this man are not hidden from him. He knows what to do to become a medical doctor in future. He is well acquainted with the route and processes of becoming a pilot or engineer and so on. He also knows those places that when he goes there, he could be hurt, and others where he knows he will surely return with gains of some kind. These are what is referred to as natural causes or means to attaining blessing or in other words success. But a superimposing fact remains ambiguous. And thus the question: Why is it that not all that dare into such successes that attain it at the tail end?!

This brings us to the topic “SOURCES OF BLESSING”. It is not just the natural kinds of blessing and success that are being referred to herein. But have to do with those special sources of blessings specifically elevated by Allah and His messenger (SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) through divine texts and verses from the Glorious Qur’an. Therefore, it is important one strives to hold steadfastly to them and avoid what should be avoided in order not to get devoid of such blessings.

Among these sources of blessing are:

THE BLESSING OF THE QUR’AN:

The Qur’an is a book full of blessings, a perfect book in every sphere of knowledge, a book that details so many things and separate clearly between good and evil. It will stand a witness to all other sent books from Allah. Allah sent it as a guidance, mercy, healing, a reminder and a plain easily understood communication. He says:

“And this is a blessed Reminder (the Qur’an), which We have sent down”
(Al-Anbiya: 50)

The Prophet ‎(SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ‎said:

“Learn Surah al-Baqarah, for having it (i.e. reading, memorizing and working in guidance with the meaning) is blessed and neglecting it is regret; and the magicians (and witches) cannot withstand it”
[Ahmad]

He ‎(SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ‎ again said:

“Verily, he who has nothing of the Glorious Qur’an in his mind (i.e. memorized it) is like a dilapidated house”.
[At-Tirmidhi and others]

KEEPING THE BONDS OF KINSHIP:

In keeping good relation with one’s kin and relatives lies abundance of wealth and blessed lease of life. The Prophet ‎(SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ‎ said:

“Whoever loves to be granted more wealth and his lease of life prolonged, then he should keep good relations with his kith and kin”
[Bukhari]
