Steel plant sought at Kadapa

AISF activists on Monday took out a massive rally with unemployed youth in Rayachoti demanding the government to establish an steel plant in the district and provide employment to the locals.

The rally which passed through major thoroughfares in the town culminated at the Tahsildar office where the students and youths stage a sit-in demanding a steel plant in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, the AISF leaders said that the steel plant was promised in the district and it was part of the AP Reorganisation Act assurance. Despite having numerous natural resources in the district the state government is not showing any interest to establish steel plant, they felt. YSR Congress also on various occasion protested in this regard.

Recently Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy submitted a memorandum to Union Minister for Steel Chaudhary Birender Singh in demanding the Centre to set up a steel plant in the district. (INN)
