Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University will establish Directorate of Translation and Publication soon. The preliminary work has already been started in this direction. These thoughts were expressed by Dr. Mohammed Aslam Parvez, VC of MANUU on the occasion of Alumni Day held yesterday under the auspices of Urdu University Old Students’ Association.
The VC told that he would take every step to protect the interests of this great university. Regarding the appointment in the University, VC told that the selection would be made on the basis of merit and qualifications and not on the basis of any recommendation or pressure. He assured all possible help to MANUU Alumni Association.
President of the Association, Mr. Aijaz Ali Quraishi welcomed the gathering. He told that the association was formed in 2012 with an objective of bringing the old students of the university closer to their alma mater. Mr. Mohammed Mustafa Ali Sarvari, Associate Professor of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of MANUU addressed on the topic of “Higher Education and the problems of Urdu medium student students”
Present on this occasion were, Prof. S.M.Rahmatullah, Prof. Zafaruddin, Prof. Mahmood Siddiqui, Prof. M.A. Azeem, Prof. Abul Kalam, Associate professors, Shahida Begum, Ameena Tahseen, Faheem Aktar and Dr. Kafeel Ahmed.
