Sudhir Commission report likely to be delayed

The report of Sudhir Commission of Enquiry formed to study the provision of reservations to Muslims is likely to be delayed. Although the commission of Enquiry is ready to submit the report next month in the prescribed time but due to the non-cooperation of government institutions it is not in a position to prepare the report in time.

In this scenario it is likely that the term of Commission of Enquiry will be extended for further 6 months. The Commission of Enquiry formed under the chairmanship of retd IAS G Sudhir was ready to present the report by March 25but it doesn’t seem to be possible due to non-cooperation of bureaucracy.

On one hand the government has not released the salary of commission members for 8 months and the budget required to study the educational socio-economic condition of Muslims has not been released; on the other hand government department and district collectors avoid revealing required data regarding Muslims. All these raise question mark on the sincerity of government to provide reservations to Muslims.
