Sugar extends fall on reduced demand

Mumbai: Prices of both varieties of sugar extended their fall at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to reduced demand from stockists and retailers amid ample supply.

Medium sugar (M-30) dipped by Rs 40/10 per quintal to Rs 3,202/3,362 from Monday’s closing level of Rs 3,242/3,372.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 10/7 per quintal to Rs 3,150/3,245 as against Rs 3,160/3,252 yesterday.

Following are today’s closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,202/3,362 (Rs 3,242/3,372).

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,150/3,245 (Rs 3,160/3,252).
