Hyderabad: Mr. Syed Viqaruddin, editor Rehnuma-e-Deccan and Chairman Indo Arab League and Prof. Shaukat Hayat, former Dean Faculty of Arts, Dr. BR Ambedkar University have been nominated for Maulana Abul Kalam Azad National Award in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh respectively. A committee of experts decided this after considering various names.
The awards will be presented on ‘Minority Welfare Day’ to be celebrated on the occasion of birth anniversary of first Education Minister of the country Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on November 11.
In Telangana the function will be held on November 11, at 3 pm, at Nizam College Ground, while it has been decided to organise the function in Guntur in Andhra Pradesh. The award is being given for the first time after the bifurcation of state while the award was given to Prof. Ashraf Rafi, Prof. Sulaiman Siddiqui, Mr. Rahman Jami and Mr. Ghyasuddin Babu Khan in United Andhra for their remarkable services.
