Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Sujana Chowdary and TDP MP CM Ramesh on Monday met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and discussed with him the issue of granting Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh.
The two leaders are said to have reminded Jaitley of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise made during the Lok Sabha election and made it clear that the TD would not settle down anything less than granting SCS for the state. Sources in the party also said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will mount pressure on the Centre in this regard.(INN)
