Time for introspection, not press conferences: BJP cautions Congress

New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday said it is ‘absolutely ridiculous’ that the Congress, which rather than introspecting its failures has been making desperate attempts to pinpoint the flaws of the NDA regime, adding the nation would never accept such an ‘arrogant’ mindset.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said the Congress is trying its best to close its eyes upon the developmental work that has taken place in the past two years.

“Rather than being ignorant towards the achievements of the current government, those in the Congress contesting this should in fact be sitting down and introspect what went wrong within their party,” Patra told ANI.

“But they prefer travelling across the country and hold press conferences. This is absolutely ridiculous,” he added.

Patra further said the Congress has already been rejected, adding this kind of arrogance under such a scenario will not go down well with the people of this country.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today start the two-year anniversary celebrations of the NDA regime with a rally in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Prime Minister Modi had earlier tweeted the theme song of the program which highlights various initiatives undertaken by the government as well as the achievements in last two years.

‘Transforming India’ is the theme of the outreach program of the NDA Government.

On May 27, several ministers will fan out across the country, where they will spend the day participating in public meetings — with beneficiaries of government schemes and intellectuals, among others.

Meanwhile, preparations are also underway for a massive cultural show at the iconic India Gate on Saturday, which will be attended by celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher and Prasoon Joshi. (ANI)
