TNTUC chief accuses KCR of cheating SCs, STs

TNTUC State president B N Reddy today charged the TRS Government with totally cheating the Dalit and Girijan youths by failing to implement its promises even 30 months after wresting power in the State.

Talking to mediapersons at NTR Bhavan here on Monday, the TNTUC leader said after storming to power, the TRS government issued a GO in October 2014 stating that the government would give loans to the Dalit and Girijan youth directly for setting up of industries. But there was no evidence that the government kept its word and made Dalit and tribal youths as entrepreneurs, he alleged. He asked the government as to how many people were benefited under the so-called T Pride policy of the TRS government. In spite of being trained at the ‘National Academy of Construction’ not a single Dalit and tribal youth was awarded any government work as contractor.

The TNTUC leader also pointed out that out of Rs 26,000 crore allocated for SC/ST Sub-plan in three annual budgets, the State government could spend only Rs 7,000  crore for their uplift and diverted the remaining Rs 19,000 crore to other schemes. Recalling that TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao had promised to install a Dalit leader as chief minister of the State in the event of his party winning majority of seats and forming government, BN Reddy charged KCR with taking the Dalits and Girijans for a ride. He also warned that the SCs, STs and BCs would jointly teach a fitting lesson to the ruling party in the 2019 elections. (NSS)
