To pay tribute to theatre’s famous doyen late Qadir Ali Baig saheb who strode the Hindustani stage like a collossus, Department of Information & Public Relations, Government of Telangana in association with Chowmahalla Palace, Salar Jung Museum and Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation present acclaimed heritage plays:
1. ‘SAVAAN-E-HAYAT’
The acclaimed Urdu heritage play is based on the extraordinary life and times of Queen of Golconda Hayat Bakshi Begum, who thwarted Mughal invasion and protected the kingdom using her sharp acumen instead of choosing the way of battle. It had its recent stagings in Turkey and USA. It features city’s veteran Rashmi Seth in the title role and Mohammad Ali Baig in a triple role.

2. ‘QULI : DILON KA SHAHZAADA’
The internationally-acclaimed epic romantic saga about the Founder of Hyderabad and ‘saheb-e-diwan’ poet King Quli Qutub Shah, has received standing ovations in Canada, France, Turkey, UK and USA and has been the toast of several international festivals around the world. Termed as an “Indian masterpiece” and “mesmerizing” by European and US media, the play has live Qawwali and shadow dance.
