TRS MPs vow to stall House for HC division

Upping the ante against the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, the TRS MPs today staged a protest near Parliament House demanding that the former take immediate decision to bifurcate High Court in Andhra Pradesh. Holding placards and raising slogans for speedy division of the High Court in Hyderabad, the MPs, including B Vinod Kumar, Jithender Reddy, Balka Suman, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and others expressed displeasure over the Centre’s adamant attitude on the issue.

“We will continue to stall the proceedings in both the Houses of Parliament until the Centre took a decision on our just demand”, they warned. Though one year elapsed after bifurcation of the united State, the Centre was buying time on the issue, they charged. “We are not afraid of any action by the Centre, which ought to take a final call”, they clarified. As per Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, the existing High Court should be divided among Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States to enable them to function smoothly. They shouted slogans against the Centre for not able to take a decision on the contentious issue. The TRS leaders also held Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu responsible for the inordinate delay.

They also accused AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of coming in the way of the High Court division. If the two Naidus exert pressure on the Centre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not hesitate to take a decision, they felt. The TRS leaders also made it clear that they would seek another court if the existing one was allotted to the AP. “Let the Centre and Union Law Ministry take a final call and we will abide by it”, they added.
