TRS stops Kodandaram, tense at marketyard

TJAC Chairman Prof Kodandaram today faced ire from farmers when he tried to visit marketyards at Suryapet, Motkuru and Tirmualgiri. When he went to find out the problems of the farmers at the marketyards, some TRS activists staged strong protest against his visit. Situation turned tense at the Suryapet marketyard as the TRS activists did not allow the professor to interact with the farmers. They shouted slogans against him saying that Kodandram go back and quit the marketyard. Kodandaram had to leave the place as he could not interact with the farmers at the marketyard seeking minimum support price. There was an altercation between the TRS activists and other farmers. Later Kodandaram expressed displeasure that the TRS activists are behaving in an undemocratic way. The ruling party activists should not come in the way to find out the problems of the farmers who seek MSP he said. We will fight for the cause of the farmers and poor until their problems are resolved Kodandaram reiterated. Suryapet DSP Ch Mohan tried to pacify the mobs and dispersed the gathering. (NSS)
