TS police tops in passport verification, Anurag Sharma to get award from Sushma Swaraj

Hyderabad: Telangana Police disposed of 3, 93, 356 passport applications by introducing software application, VERIFAST in Telangana State during 2015-16. In this manner, Telangana became the topmost state in passport application verifications.

 

DGP of TS, Mr. Anurag Sharma, IPS will receive award from External Affairs Minister, Ms. Sushma Swaraj in the function to be held in New Delhi for TS achieving the topmost position in passport verification in the entire country.

 

A press note issued by Telangana Police stated that by speedy verification, the State got first position. It may be noted that after the bifurcation of the State, police administration changed its policy and it approached the people in a friendly manner.

 

In order to simplify the process of passport verification, the software application, VERIFAST was introduced through which the passport verification in five days was ensured. With the introduction of this new software, There was revolution in the process. The applicant is given information about the verification of his/her passport on SMS. This facilitated in getting the passport early. It also saved the time and money of the people.

 

In the press note it was stated that during 2015-16, Telangana police verified, 3,93,356 passports. Telangana Police also provided special training to the police officials in connection with passport verification. They were provided 1500 i-pads so that the information regarding verification of passport could be communicated to the passport office directly. This resulted in transparency.

 

It may be mentioned that a police officer attached to Jubilee Hills Police Station refuse to accept bribe from an applicant for his passport verification.
