TSRTC inks pact with French government for ITS project


Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government of France for funding, study and implementation of Integrated Intelligent Transport System (ITS) project on a pilot basis.

Under ITS project – fleet tracking, real time monitoring, passenger information system, solar electronic display for the passengers and statistical platform for optimising the operations are taken up, an official release said today.

During a tour to France and Germany last week, TSRTC Managing Director G V Ramana Rao and Chairman Somarapu Satyanarayana along with senior TSRTC officials studied the transport systems and procedures prevailing in those countries so as to adopt some of them in TSRTC for improving the efficiency.

The Government of France through Lumiplan ITS India Pvt Ltd and Public Transport Organisation in Paris (RATP) has come to an understanding (MoU) with TSRTC on ITS project which would be taken up on a pilot, it added.
