Two held for bid to sell banned Turkey currency

On Saturday, the sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force nabbed two persons near Rethifile Bus stop, Secunderabad while trying to sell banned Turkey currency to gullible customers and seized 96 notes and two cell phones from their possession.

 

The accused were identified as G. Mallikarjun, 47, of Nellore district and J. Hanumantha Chary, 35, of Prakasam District. Police said both planned to earn easy money by selling the banned Turkey Currency notes to innocent people. Accordingly, they purchased banned Turkey currency from one Srinivas for Rs 50,000 at Vijayawada and brought the same to Hyderabad to sell them for a good price. On Saturday, sleuths laid a trap and nabbed the accused near Rethifile Bus stop, Secunderabad and seized 96 notes of banned Turkey Currency from their possession. (NSS)
