Two-Wheeler Riders Association meeting tomorrow

Hyderabad: Telangana Two-Wheeler Riders Association will hold a protest meeting demanding “Removal of Helmet-rule and Total Prohibition” on March 20 at Basheerbagh at 2 pm. The third important demand was that the speed-breakers should be painted conspicuously with Zebra Marks. The meeting will discuss and decide the immediate course of agitation.
Mohd. Amanuallah Khan, Convenor, has announced his decision to go on an indefinite hunger strike from March 21 in support of two-wheeler riders’ just and reasonable demands. Besides, there will be a Twin Cities Bandh in protest against police harassment.
Addressing mediapesons here today, Khan appealed to the two-wheeler riders to attend the meeting on Sunday afternoon in large numbers and make it a success. He pointed out that if the two-wheeler riders support the association, “together we could bury the compulsory helmet law and make its use optional”. He also said the association would organize agitations in such a manner that prohibition will be imposed not only in Telangana, but also all over the country. He said if the two-wheeler riders remain united they could throw out not only the State Government but also the Central Government. He also said the dream of Chief Minister KCR to achieve Golden Telangana would be impossible without total prohibition. He also strongly condemned the criminal negligence of the Traffic Police and GHMC authorities’ inaction in not painting speed-breakers conspicuously due to which accidents are taking place, particularly during nights.
