Uma Bharti jibes about Shah Rukh’s detention in US

New Delhi: Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti has taken a jibe at Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan after he was detained shortly at Los Angeles Airport.

Her comment was aimed at Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, though she did not name them.

Shah Rukh was detained for third time in seven years at Los Angeles airport in United States.

Bharti said, “Now one good thing will happen…, these people (SRK and Amir Khan) will start liking India a lot.”

Uma Bharti’s comments came in the backdrop of the row that followed statements from film stars about growing intolerance in the country.

In November last year, actor Aamir Khan spoke about ‘rising intolerance’ in India, saying his wife Kiran Rao had asked if they should move out of the country, as she feared for the safety of their children in a climate of insecurity.

Uma Bharti had warned earlier that if they ‘make an ideological statement wrapped in politics’, they should ‘be prepared for a reaction (from) the other side’.
