‘Uttar Pradesh’ became ‘Rape Pradesh’ in SP rule: Sakshi Maharaj

Sakshi Maharaj

While large numbers of people have been demanding capital punishment for the most shocking and heinous crimes in recent years even BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj from Unnao on Sunday accused Samajwadi Party leaders “boosting the morale of criminals”. And labeling the state as “Rape Pradesh”.

He said “I demand that the 43-year-old accused of raping the minor girl (in Unnao) be hanged till death,” till death,” he said the victim recently gave birth to a child from the rape.

Slamming the Samajwadi Party Sakshi Maharaj said.“So far, no representative of the state government has bothered to meet the family. Nobody is bothered about who will take the responsibility of the girl and her newborn child.” he added the accused “enjoys political patronage” and the FIR was lodged after much delay.

He also demanded the state government to compensate the family of the victim by providing with the financial aid of at least Rs 25 lakh. “considering the family of Mohammad Akhlaq (victim of Dadri lynching) was given Rs 45 lakh”. Orelse he’ll ask the Centre to provide help to the girl and her family. by raising the Unnao rape incident in the upcoming session of Parliament.

By pointing out the top leaders of Samajwadi Party,Sakshi said “their statements have led to a “rise in rape crimes” in the state.

The ‘unpleasant’ and ‘shameful’, remark made by the ruling party’s chief, Mulayam Singh Yadav, regarding punishment to rapists. By saying “boys often commit mistakes”.

His son, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, also said that “government cannot provide security to every individual”.

Again in shocking incident when Uttar Pradesh Minority Welfare Minister Azam Khan made an insensitive remark on an alleged rape victim telling her not to go looking for ‘fame and attention’ for her ‘disgrace’ or else she won’t be able to face the world with dignity.

Sakshi Maharaj pledged to take the issue of the Unnao rape incident in the upcoming session of Parliament.
