VHR demands Health Emergency in Hyderabad

Congress Rajya Sabha member V. Hanumantha Rao has criticised the State Government for its alleged failure to prevent the spread of diseases like Swine Flu, Dengue, Malaria, etc.,

Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here on Saturday, VHR said that the Telangana Government has completely neglected public health and did not take any steps to prevent epidemics. He demanded that the government declared Health Emergency to deal with the situation effectively. He said that the government should ensure availability of doctors, medicines and other para-medical staff in all government hospitals.

VHR also demanded that the State Government provide adequate relief to farmers who have been committing suicide due to failure of crop.

Earlier, accompanied with TPCC Minorities Department president Fakhruddin, VHR visited the families of Haj pilgrims who were killed in tragic Mina stampede. He demanded compensation of Rs. 5 lakh for the families of those killed in the incident. (INN)
