NOIDA: Alleging that a servant maid was assaulted and held captive overnight in an apartment of the housing society at NOIDA near New Delhi, a mob of irate villagers pelted stones and barged into the apartment.

It is reported that the maid was suspected of stealing money.

The husband of the maid, Zohra Bibi (26) filed a complaint against the employer saying that his wife did not return home throughout yesterday and also in the night.
The next morning, the family members of Zohra along with other villagers arrived at the housing society in Sector 78 of Noida.

According to the statement of the relatives of Zohra, it is not know where she spent the night. She was taken to hospital in the morning after she came out of the society.

As per the statement made by the employer, stole Rs. 10, 000. He also claimed that she admitted her crime. It is also reported that she also works in other apartments of the complex.

The employer further said that when he threatened her of informing the housing society’s office that she stole money, she ran away.

The other persons residing in the same complex informed that Zohra was not held captive by the employer. They also claimed that she spent night in other apartment where she works.

However, the next morning, more than 200 irate villagers attacked the society. They carried stones and sticks with them.

According to the statement made by Mitul Sethi, the villagers barged into the house by breaking the door glass.

After the attack, Mitul Sethi and her family was taken out of the society by security guards.

Protest came to an end when the police appealed to maintain peace.
