New Delhi: JNU student, Anirban Bhattacharya, one of the JNU students who was arrested for alleged anti-national slogans, spoke about Umar Khalid. He was arrested on the charge of Sedition under Section 124-A of IPC. While speaking at JNU’s Freedom Square, he condemned the mindset of the police linking Umar Khalid with JeM.
He also questioned the definition of “Nationalism”. He further said that so-called patriotic people feels shame for the fire in “Make in India” program but never felt ashamed of the farmer committing suicide due to hunger and debt. He also raised the issue of Muslim constable who was beaten in Maharashtra and the rape of nuns.
