Video: Mob chopped off fingers of 11-year-old Ismail on stealing rumours

KOLKATA: A mob brutally assaults an 11-year-old Muslim boy mercilessly over suspicion of stealing mobile phone in West Bengal.

According to the Two Circles report, the brutal abuse happened on June 3 in East Medinipur in West Bengal.

The boy named S.K Ismail was stripped naked and beaten mercilessly before cutting off his four fingers and since that day Ismail is missing.

The attacked took place under the orders of the main accused, Jayanta Maity, husband of the local Panchayat Pradhan, Jharna Maity.

The shocking incident of mob justice took place on Saturday near bus terminal where some residents along with members of Gourangapur Sports Authority Club after chasing Ismail thrash him mercilessly as punishment before cutting off his four fingers when he tried to defend himself from a blow to the head.

A video footage of extreme helpless Ismail, which was confirmed by his family members showed the victim in a room, where he was surrounded by a number of people and being abused by them.

The boy’s father S.K Rafik has lodged an FIR and demanded the case to be registered against them under Sec 302, 307, 308,295A, 298, 326,364 and 365 of IPC.

Superintendent of Police, East Medinipur has arrested two culprits till now. Investigations into the case is underway to nab others but the main accused-Jayanta Maity-has still not been arrested.
