Violence erupted in funeral procession in Jubilee Hills, Rapid Action Force deployed

Hyderabad: While taking out the funeral procession of the slain, Amer Khan, violence erupted in Jubilee Hills area yesterday. The situation became tense. Police deployed rapid action force and promulgated Section 144 of IPC in the area.

It may be mentioned that three days back, Mohammed Amer alias Amer Khan was killed by unknown persons in Sanjaynagar area. Police handed over his dead body after postmortem. Some miscreants in the funeral procession started pelting stones on the houses. They also set ablaze the vehicles of police patrolling party. When the situation became tense, Rapid Action Force and Para Military Forces were deployed. During the procession, ACP of Panjagutta, Mr. M. Venkateshwarlu and Detective Inspector of Jubilee Hills, Mr. Muttu Yadav were injured. Private vehicles were also targeted. Some shops were damaged.

On receiving information, Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mahinder Reddy visited the spot. He informed that with the help of CCTV Cameras, 25 persons were arrested. Some 50 persons have also been identified. Action would be taken against them. He further told that four persons were arrested in connection with the murder of Amer Khan. Investigations are in progress.
