The State Government was competing not only with the neighboring States in industrial sector but also doing so with the World itself, Minister for Industries K Tarakarama Rao has said in the Assembly.
He was addressing the House during a discussion on industries and the new Industrial policy of TSiPASS and single window system on Monday. KTR claimed that his government was vying with the world and not just confined to the State. He said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held a crucial meeting with FICCI, DICCI and FAPCI before rolling out a new industrial policy. Though the industrial promotion was at tardy pace during the previous Congress regime, it is not so now, he added.
The State government was adopting transparent measures of slapping fine or taking stringent action if the officials concerned failed to take action on the appeals and urges for industries or any other issues. After due time, such officer will be fined with Rs 1,000 a day for delay of completing the given task. The same policy will be replicated in other departments too to ensure speedy disposal of pending cases.
KTR explained that an industrialist sought to know about the industrial policy and was pleasantly surprised and showed interest in replicating the same. The policy of holding responsible an officer for not clearing the files was not there in India previously and also in the US, the industrialist said. The Government was also committed to encouraging agriculture sector and giving 24-hour power supply to farmers, he said.
The industrial policy was enabling the companies, business honchos and industry bigwigs to come and open their shops and expand the existing ones, he pointed out. He slammed the Opposition leaders for spreading rumors that statehood to Telangana would obstruct investments that proved wrong. He also claimed that the first of its kind new industrial policy was being replicated by other States. (NSS)
