Hyderabad: Two former officials have been served notice to vacate, after the lease of the houses they are residing in has expired. On the direction of Secretary Minority Welfare and Competent Authority of Waqf Board Syed Omer Jaleel, Chief Executive Officer issued notices to two former officials and gave 15 days time to vacate the houses.

The two officials were allotted houses in Razzaqpura and Moghalpura. The allotment of houses was against Waqf rules hence the notice was served. It is said that the former officials include a retd CEO and an Assistant Secretary. Both the officials are still serving in the Board as OSDs. It is said that houses were given on lease to them for which they are paying paltry rent. The market rent of the said houses is nearly 10000 while they are paying Rs. 800 to 1200 as rent.

Interestingly one of the former officials has entered into lease agreement with himself while holding the post. The document has his signatures both as the lessor and the lessee which is illegal.
