Watch: Drunk DSP son set 5 shops ablaze in Secunderabad, arrested

Hyderabad: The Market police on Wednesday arrested two students for setting ablaze five shops in Secunderabad in an inebriated state.

Police identified the accused as T Chiranjeevi, 23, son of T V Hanmantharao, a DSP working at TSSP VIII battalion in Kondapur, and K Jayendra Varma, 24, a customer service executive in Amazon and son of K V Krishnam Raju, an engineer at Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad.

North Zone DCP N Prakash Reddy said that on Tuesday, the accused in an inebriated state came to Secunderabad at 2 am, a fire tender reached the place and doused the flames.The drunken youth, who watched the events from a distance, later stopped near Alpha hotel opposite Secunderabad railway station at 4 am and torched a footwear store and a bags shop.

DCP said that,”We checked the CCTV camera footage at Alpha hotel and realised that the two persons had committed the crime.” The Market police arrested the duo on Wednesday.

Police seized a bike, two cell phones, a cigarette box and a match box from the possession of the accused. They were remanded in judicial custody.
