Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to provide water ATMs in Hyderabad. Political circles have welcomed the project.
The idea has been propelled on the lines of cash-dispensing automated teller machines (ATMs) of banks along with the Rs 5 meal scheme in Telangana.
1 litre purified drinking water will be provided all over the city at the cost of Rs. 1 at the water ATMs.
To overview the implementation, GHMC has been planning to send team members to places such as Pune, Ghaziabad and Delhi where the system is already in function.
