Water, a major future challenge: RSS

Ranchi: The RSS today identified water crisis as one of the serious problems facing the nation in future and said the challenge of managing and conserving it could be met if society’s vigourous response was linked with the government’s endeavour.

“…Water is one of the serious future issues. If society’s power is linked with the government, the coming crisis can be dealt with,” RSS General Secretary Bhayyaji Joshi said at a press conference after the completion of the Sangh’s three-day executive here.

He said the executive discussed ways to tide over future water crisis through its proper management and conservation in the country.

Similarly, the meeting also dwelt upon how to spread awareness, active participation of the people and having proper mechanism in place for the Swachh Bharat Mission, introduced by the Centre after a change of government, he said.

“Compared to other countries in Swachh (cleanliness), India is a bit behind them. And we have discussed how to work on it,” Joshi said, adding in future too they would ponder over how to make India pollution-free, another challenge before the nation.

Stating that the RSS expected support from society in its endeavour to serve constructively on these issues, Joshi said in its 90 years of existence, the Sangh has moved forward addressing constructive issues.
