Welfare State is our motto: Etala

Hyderabad: “Ultimate aim of the TRS government was to make and transform Telangana into a welfare State”, Finance Minister Etala Rajender has said.

Getting nostalgic of how the TRS waged a protracted movement for 14 years involving people for statehood, he said many forces got together against Telangana. In spite of such obstructions and hurdles created by Andhra rulers and politicos, the Telangana protagonists under able leadership of K Chandrasekhar Rao fought and fetched the separate State, he remarked.

Participating in a CSR Summit organized jointly by Confederation of Indian Industries and NTPC at Hotel Grand Kakatiya here, Rajender exhorted the industries and business community to shoulder corporate social responsibility to rejuvenate the hands of the government vying to achieve speedy growth. Now that the TRS is at the helm of affairs, the State will be developed into a place of welfare and rapid growth in all sectors. Many leaders tried to misguide the people against the statehood, although, Telangana an independent state has overcome the riddle of power crisis in recent times.

“We are spending a whopping Rs 36,000 crore on welfare and spending huge funds for lakes revival which will prove handy for farmers besides increasing groundwater level and turn the lands into greenery to reap in golden harvest. This was the aim of our Chief Minister, who is toiling day and night and involving people for the speedy completion of the flagship programs, Rajender stated. “Our vision will go hand in hand with manpower for growth”, he said, adding that KG-to-PG scheme will begin this June.

The TS Government has come up with first of its kind new industrial policy giving all permissions in two weeks enabling the industries, companies to rope in with investments and participate in the State’s growth and economic development, he maintained. “TSiPASS was another feather in our cap that is giving positive results as many global companies are evincing keen interest to invest in the State and Hyderabad will become a global destination. With a perfect and impeccable vision, the TS Government is giving top priority for foolproof round the clock protection and security through one lakh CC cameras for continuous surveillance and Command Control Center will monitor it,” he added.
