Woman burnt alive as car catches fire

Hyderabad: In a ghastly incident, a woman was burnt alive after the car in which she was travelling caught fire due to overheating on the highway near Adduroad Junction at S. Rayavaram Mandal in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh in the wee hours of Thursday.

The women identified as Nagamani was travelling with her husband Ramana in Mahindra Scorpio SUV   during the incident. They were returning to Vijayawada from their native place Purushottapuram. Ramana managed to escape, as the locals gathered at the spot and pulled him to a safe distance. But they could not save Nagamani.

According to the reports the central locking system of the car failed when it caught fire which leads to the death of Nagamani.

The police are yet to find out the cause of the fire as neither the car rammed the divider nor did any other vehicle hit it. It looks like sparks flew while the car was moving.
