New Delhi [India]: The women activists on Wednesday demanded a severe punishment against the Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav for his ‘anti-women’ remark, adding that the party leaders should come out in open, condemning the former’s statement.
“He is good at making such anti-women statement in many occasion .It is very unfortunate because he is one of the senior leaders of our country. In spite of his repeated claim that they are for gender equality and gender justice, such comments shows in which side he stands. I hope the party and its leaders will realise the seriousness of the statement and advise Yadav that he should not make such remarks,” women activist Annie Raja told ANI.
Raja further said that the entire burden and responsibility of family’s and community’ pride is on the shoulder of women, adding, “This is a typical, patriarchal and feudalistic mentality of the male chauvinist.”
