Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 yet to be launched, pictures leaked online

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is the next smartphone from company, and the first major details about the phone have been leaked online. A source close to Android Headlines believes that Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 could launch at the end of this month with Android 7.1 Nougat.

Major details about Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone, the Redmi Note 5, have been leaked online, revealing the phone to be powered by Snapdragon Qualcomm’s 630 processor and yet-unreleased MIUI9 OS, reported Android Headlines.

Based on the leaked imaged posted by the Android Headlines, Redmi Note 5 will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) display, similar to Redmi 4 model, likely to be powered by Snapdragon 626/630 processor, coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM with a storage option of 32GB/64GB, respectively.

In terms of camera, the phone will feature a 16MP rear sensor and a 13MP front sensor. The phone is expected to be packed with 3790mAh with Quick Charge 4.0 technology and operate on Android Nougat 7.1.1 operating system with Xiaomi’s own MIUI 9 OS a top.

According to the Android Headlines report, Xiaomi is likely to dumb the fingerprint scanner in the new release; instead the fingerprint sensor will be embedded into the hone button itself. The report also claims that Xiaomi will release the device later this month at a starting price of $200 (approx. Rs 12,969).

Unfortunately, it’s hard to confirm if the report is accurate or not. Redmi Note 4 has been a massive success in India, so obviously expectations from its successor are bound to be sky high. We’ll probably have to wait for Xiaomi to confirm the release of Redmi Note 5 in China, before we see the smartphone get launched in India. In India, Redmi Note 4 has been one of the highest selling smartphones from the company.
