Young Saudi couples are reluctant to marry because of steep house rents

Jeddah: According to the poll conducted by the Charitable Society for Marriage and Family Guidance based in Jeddah, a large number of young Saudi couples are reluctant to marry because of steep house rents. As per the poll, 93% complained of the high rents, especially young men.

 

Meanwhile, President of the Society, Ahmed Sultan Al-Omari said that assistance will be provided to young men and women who want to get married. Talking about his society, he said that his society runs other programs including awareness in choosing the right partner.

However, he said that private sector should also help with marriage and ease their costs as charitable societies alone cannot alleviate the burdens. He also said that all sectors should help young couples, especially when marriage costs are become an obstacle for youths as Islam urges early marriage. Early marriage keeps youngsters away from danger, sedition and corruption, he added.
