Amazon to open its world’s largest campus in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Amazon is all set to open its largest campus in Hyderabad next week at Nanankramguda. With around 15 storeys, the building is being constructed in three million sq ft including one million for the parking area.

“The new state-of-the-art campus is expected to be ready by 2019 and would house thousands of employees managing back-end operations for Amazon’s various global business and technology teams” the company’s press release during foundation stone was laid.

Amazon also has the biggest fulfilment centre spread over 4 lakh sq ft at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and will be expanded to 5.8 lakh sq ft by 2020

The campus which is in 10-acre land will be inaugurated by the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao next week in the presence of Amazon’s global real estate and facilities director John Schoettler and Amazon India senior VP and country manager Amit Agarwal.

According to the sources, the building currently houses around 7,000 people but it is learned to increase to 9,000 by the end of September.

The e-commerce giant has also had its largest India fulfilment centre at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport spread over 4 lakh sq ft.
