Amjad Basha is the new deputy chief minister of AP

Kadapa: Amjad Basha is the new deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. He was sworn in as Minister for Minority Welfare at the AP Secretariat in Velagapudi on Saturday. He said that he will strive for the welfare of minorities.

As reported by The Hans India, the Deputy Minister stated that he will implement sub-plan meant for Muslims effectively. He assured people of Kadapa city for bringing 1 tmcft of Somasila backwater to resolve drinking water shortage in summer.

Recalling that construction of the pipeline was started at Siddavatam to bring Somasila backwater to Kadapa during the regime of former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Mr Basha said that the work was stalled due to unknown reasons.

He assured that the pipeline work will be resumed after taking up the issue to the notice of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
