Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janta Party today demanded the Ayurvedic 100 bedded Hospital at Charminar to continue at its same premises failing which the BJP will occupy the Unani research centre constructed at Erragadda besides Ayurvedic college land allotted to Ayurvedic college.
Speaking to media persons here today Mr Prakash Reddy BJP official spokesperson warned that if the Ayurvedic college does not continue at its original place at Charminar the BJP will not remain mute spectators and will ensure that the Unani Research Centre is occupied for the purpose.
Alleging that the TRS was following the diktaits of MIM who was handling the steering wheel of the TRS Car he alleged that MIM was behind the whole issue of occupying the Ayurveda college and throwing the inmates out. He demanded that the Ayurvedic 100 bedded hospital should continue at Charminar itself.
The BJP also demanded that the outpatient block which is a heritage building cannot be renovated should hence a separate block for OP and other services should be constructed in the same premises. If the Government wants they can allot separate land in any part of Hyderabad for construction of new Ayurvedic Hospital for the training of peripheral students he said.
Mr Prakash Reddy also strongly condemned the arrest of Ayurvedic students along with BJP leaders Uma Mahendra Alla Jitendar Mr Kishen and other leaders who have been taken to Kanchanbagh police station.
It may be recalled that since a week the issue of Ayurveda college has come into the limelight. The Commissioner Ayush issued a notification that the Ayurveda Hospital at Cjar,Omar attached tp BRK Government college will be shifted to Eraggadda and that only 45 bedded hospital will function which was opposed both by the students and the BJP as Hospital had started way back in 1939 and since more several decades it is serving the people of Hyderabad and neighbouring areas.
Though the Hospital is adjacent to Nizami Tibbi college belonging to Unani Medical Hospital this Hopsital is popularly known as Charminar Dawakhana .
Mr. Prakash Reddy alleged that TRS Government at the instigation of MIM and with assistance of TRS leaders and MLAs and in particular the MIM leader Pasha Quadri want to occupy the premises .Earlier also in 2007 similar effort was made when they ransacked the building on the grounds that the firmaan was issued by the Nizam. Stating that the Firmaans were not applicable anymore he alleged that MIM Thinks that they are real representatives of the Nizams .
Now since the TRS has issued orders to shift the Hospital the students started protesting and yesterday under cover Unani students and MIM anti social elements ransacked the Ayurveda Hospital forcibly and not only sent the patients out but manhandled the staff and officials and occupied the premises . They also ransacked the furniture and other fixtures of the hospital and threw them in a godown and occupied the premises which is illegal they pointed out . The BJP has represented the matter to the Commissioner and warned that if the same was not restored they would forcibly occupy the Unani research centre at Eraggadda.
