Azhar to file Rs 100 cr suit against detractor over FIR filing

Hyderabad: Mohammed Azharuddin, former Indian cricket team captain and ex-MP shared a video message on his Twitter account after an FIR was filed against him.

Dismissing the allegations leveled against him, Azharuddin said that he is consulting his legal team to take further steps. The former captain also said that he would file a defamation case.

It may be mentioned that a case was filed against Azharuddin and two others for allegedly cheating a local travel agent of around Rs 2.10 million, a police official said on Wednesday.

The complaint was lodged by Shahab Y. Mohammed, 49, proprietor of Danish Tours & Travels.

Investigating Officer A.D. Nagre, of the City Chowk police station told that although an FIR is registered against Mujeeb Khan (Aurangabad), Sudheesh Avikkal (Kerala), Mohammed Azharuddin (Hyderabad), no arrests have been made.

Investigations are underway, he added.
