Cabbie attacks traffic constable on one-way drive, arrested

Bengaluru: A cabbie assaulted the on-duty traffic constable with a bunch of keys for attempting to stop him after he allegedly drove his vehicle in a one-way road in Kaadubeesanahalli.

The accused Sandeep is a private cab driver who attacked the 32-year-old traffic constable Karadi Hanumantappa for driving against the one way which led to traffic jam, the incident occurred on 9.30 am on Friday morning, BM reports.

He was later arrested by Marathahalli police for punching the constable with a bunch of car keys. 

A senior police officer soon reached the spot after he received a message about the huge traffic jam on the busy road in Kaadubeesanahalli.

On reaching the spot he saw the accused drove his vehicle against the one way despite Hanumanthappa attempting to stop him.

When the constable started recording the violation on his mobile phone, enraged Sandeep got down from his car pulled Hanumanthappa down by his collar and started to beat him up hurling abuses at him.

When Hanumanthappa called up the traffic staff over his phone, Sandeep punched his face with his car keys. 


The constable was later rushed to a nearby hospital for first aid while the  Marathalli police arrested the cabbie.
