Chouhan seeks NRC implementation across India

Guwahati: Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh said that the exercise of National Register of Citizens (NRC) should not be limited to Assam rather it should be implemented across the country.

According to the report published in The Asian Age, Mr. Chouhan said that India cannot be a ‘dharamsala’ for illegal migrants.

Mr. Chouhan who is on a three-day tour to North-East supported Assam Government’s decision to release draft NRC data.

It may be mentioned that the Supreme Court is monitoring the NRC process in Assam.

In the month of August 2018, NRC Coordinator Mr. Prateek Hajela had submitted the confidential data to the Supreme Court.
