Court admonished police for arresting innocent Muslims in UP

New Delhi: Last month, mass-scale protests were witnessed in the U.P. against CAA in which 18 persons lost their lives and a large number of them were arrested.

A local court at Muzaffarnagar termed the allegations leveled by the police in the charge sheet against four Muslims baseless. The court passed orders to release them immediately. The court in its observation found that these persons were taking their father to a hospital who was suffering from liver problems. Police admitted that all the four persons were innocent but these arrests were made at the instance of U.P. Govt.

It may be mentioned that the Government of Uttar Pradesh has arrested many innocent persons in connection with anti-caa agitation.
