Hyderabad: A huge crane used in the construction of Tolichowki flyover bridge tumbled on the road, resulting in a heavy traffic jam on Tolichowki- Gachibowli route. According to Sakshi post, the mishap occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The crane collapsed due to overload, as it was trying to lift the construction material used for building the flyover.
The crane operator was reportedly killed even as he tried to escape when the crane was collapsing. While another worker was injured in the accident. He was rushed to the hospital.
The accident occurred on the road from Tolichowki towards Khajaguda.
Traffic police took to Twitter to issue advisory to the commuters. They were asked to avoid this route and take alternate routes to avoid heavy traffic jams in the route till the area is cleared.
The advisory asked the public and commuters to take alternative routes towards Dargah, Khajaguda, Biodiversity Junction, Golconda from Mehdipatnam, Toli Chowki till afternoon.
The twitter post of Cyberabad Traffic read: “Traffic Advisory : An accidental fall of a machinery on road from Toli Chowki towards Khajaguda (near Narayanamma colg – D mart ) has caused a temporary road block. Public are advised to take alternative routes towards Dargah, Khajaguda from Mehdipatnam, Toli Chowki till noon”
