The discrimination against Dalits and untouchability are still prevalent in some parts of India.
Although there are stringent laws for the eradication of untouchability and discrimination of Dalits, cases of discriminations by upper castes still continue to hit the headlines of the newspapers.
In on such incident, a woman MLA belonging to Dalit Community was stopped from entering into Ganesh pendal since she belonged to low caste.
According to the report, Ms. Sridevi, MLA of YSRCP was prevented by TDP activists from entering into a Ganesh Pendal in her constituency.
She requested the Govt. of A.P to take action against such persons who stopped her entry into Ganesh Pendal.
